Louis DEEMEDIO Obituary

Louis J. DeEmedio Mr. Louis J. DeEmedio, 82 of North Wilmington, passed away Saturday evening, May 15, 2004. Mr. DeEmedio was born in Wilmington on July 21, 1921, son of the late Alfred and Nancy (Leone) DiEmedio. He was employed as a sheet metal mechanic with Local #19, retiring in 1985 after 33 years of service. He was also an active and long time member of the Kirkwood Fitness Club. A kind and pleasant person, he was very devoted to his family and a loyal friend to many. Mr. DeEmedio is survived by his wife of 56 years, Doris Mae (Reifsnyder); his children, Thomas and his wife, Cindy, Nancy Coupe and her husband, Mike, Ronald and his wife, Felicia, Kathryn Quinn and her husband, Bob and John; and his grandchildren, Matthew DeEmedio and his wife, Marcie, Melissa Coupe, Michael DeEmedio, Kathryn Coupe, Serena DeEmedio and Stacey Coupe. He is also survived by his brothers, Joseph, Dominick, Thomas, Valentino and Robert DiEmedio; his sisters, Ann "Muffy" Craner, Joanne Tweed, Janet Mombro and Marie Strohmaier; and several nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his sister, Dolores Kowalczyk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 4th St. & Bancroft Pkwy. on Friday afternoon, May 21 at 1 pm. Interment will follow in Silverbrook Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the CHARLES P. ARCARO FUNERAL HOME, 2309 Lancaster Ave. (opp. Cathedral Cem.) on Thursday evening, May 20 from 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Mr. DeEmedio's memory to Delaware Hospice, 3515 Silverside Rd., Wilmington, DE 19810.
