We just discovered this sad news. Lou was my former boss at Shaving Mug now called Classic hair sculptors in Branmar plaza Wilmington Delaware. He's a good man. Hard to believe. R.I.P. Condolences, Lily Durst

My deepest sympathy to Lou's family at this time of loss. I grew up in the Parkway/Flats neighborhood and attended schools with Lou from the time we were little kids. I remember him, as a youngster, crossing Bancroft Parkway walking to his job at a local barber shop. During true "Happy Days", we graduated Wilmington High School "58. In 1976 Lou must have heard I was scheduled for brain surgery. He sent via mail the most perfect wig for me to wear during my recovery. I will never forget Lou and his huge heart.
Fondly, Alberta Cicatelli Whitney

My sincere condolences to Lou's family. Knew Lou since early childhood-- neighbors and school mates. I remember him working at a barber shop at a very young age. Many of us from the old Parkway/Flats neighborhood graduated Wilmington High School '58. We shared true "Happy Days" with wonderful memories. A special memory...in 1976 he heard I was to have brain surgery. He mailed me the most perfect wig. He had a huge heart. I will never forget that.
Sincerely, Alberta Cicatelli Whitney

Dean, Lou, and Chris,
You have my most sincere condolences.
Dean, I want to personally thank you for looking after your father the last two years in Chicago. As one of your father's closest and trusted friends, I cannot find the right words to express just how much I appreciate all that you have done.
All of us in Wilmington have missed Lou the last two years, although many of us kept in touch by phone. I am certain that he is in a good place, resting in peace.

Lou was my barber for many years while I worked in the courts in Wimington. While I sat with him he never missed an opportunity to advocate for children. Always civil, always informed, always a friend.

Please accept our most sincere condolences to Lou's family and friends during this difficult loss. I was fortunate to have been able to help Lou with some rides around town here locally where he lived and I very much enjoyed spending time with him. He would share stories about his days in Wilmington, DE as a barber and simply gushed when speaking of his beautiful family and all of their accompishments. He was a very gentle man beeming with pride for his family. I was very lucky to have gotten to know him during the last few months. My very best wishes to all who loved this gentle and kind soul. May you all find peace in the upcoming months and treasure the time you had with him. I am certain he treasured his time with you all.

I am so sorry for your loss and want you to know that Lou is now in a place where he will experience unequivocal love and peace.
I first met Lou in 1967 at the The Shaving Mug and I was a faithful customer and friend throughout his career until I moved from Wilmington. He was a greatr guy.

Louis was my barber when I worked "down town". Getting a haircut from Lou was an escape from the harsh reality outside his shop. He was the poor man's psychiatrist. I have so many fond memories of listening to him.
You have my deepest sympathy and condolences.

It is with regret that I heard of Louis's passing. My heart felt condolences to his family. Louis and I knew each other only for a few months. We had many conversations during my trips with him to the dialysis center. He was a fine man who was proud of his children and grandchildren. I'll miss those short trips with him and the stops at Culvers.
