Lynwood Harrison Pernsley, 51, of Wilmington, DE, husband of Shirley L. Pernsley, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 10, 2016. Born May 1, 1965 in Chester, PA, he was the son of Clarence and Charlotte Pernsley. Lynwood graduated from Henderson High School and furthered his education at Millersville University on a football scholarship where he received his BA in Economics. Lynwood was well known for his impeccable work ethics in the banking industry for over 30 years. He started as a collector and quickly excelled to become a Quality Assurance and Fraud Analyst.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his devoted wife of 9 years, Shirley; their son, Troy; parents, Clarence and Charlotte Pernsley of West Chester, PA; brothers, Timothy of Lancaster, PA, Bryant of Coatesville, PA and Shayne of St. Louis, MO; one sister, Shelly of Chester, PA; one brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by a brother, Clarence "Potts" Jackson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 10 AM at Mt. Carmel Church of God in Christ, 628 E. Miner St., West Chester, PA with a viewing from 9-10 AM at the church. Interment will be at the Rolling Green Memorial Park, West Chester, PA. I think of the first friends I had in college occasionally and Lynwood was one of them. Today I decided to try to find him and am heartbroken that I didn't try earlier. I have great memories of Lynwood's personality and I knew he would have been a great man. Damn. Peace to his family.

I had the pleasure to work with Lynwood at Conti Mortgage back in 1998-2000. He was one of the sweetest, kindest person I have ever met.
