Margaret W. "Peg" Ulin

On October 2, 2012, surrounded by her beloved family, Margaret W. "Peg" Ulin, age 81, of Jenner's Pond in West Grove, PA, and Newark, DE, passed away unexpectedly after a short illness.

Peg was born in Camden, NJ, on January 26, 1931, daughter of the late Charles J. Wermuth and Margaret E. Havers Wermuth. She was raised in Erlton, NJ, where she graduated from Our Lady of the Angels Academy as the class valedictorian. She would go on to earn her bachelor's degree from Villa Maria College in Erie, PA, and upon completion of an internship at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, began her career as a medical technologist in both Virginia and Delaware. In Delaware, she was employed for many years at St. Francis Hospital, before joining the Delaware Department of Health, where she worked in the lab at Emily P. Bissell Hospital for eight years. She then accepted a position with the health department's Environmental Health Unit, working as a public health inspector and supervisor for the next 22 years.

Peg shared many active years of retirement, enjoying family, friends, and traveling with her beloved husband of 32 years, Webster B. "Wes" Ulin, who passed away in 2008. She loved nature and the outdoors and had many adventures with Wes traveling in their motorhome to national parks across the United States. They also spent extended time each year in Round Pond, ME, Clermont, FL, and Harvey Cedars, NJ.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Peg was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Jay Wermuth. She is survived by her children, Kathleen Hubbard and husband Calvin of Baltimore, MD, Margaret Lashbrook of Elkton, MD, Thomas Miller and wife Mary Ann of Newark, DE, Julia Adams and husband Kenny of Newark, DE, and Mark Miller and wife Julie of Elkton, MD; stepchildren, Gwen Ulin of Granada, CA, Robert Ulin of Newark, DE, and Alexander Ulin of Daytona Beach, FL; nephew, Michael Wermuth of Colorado Springs, CO, and niece, Lorrie McGovern of Bristol, TN, and their families; and fourteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren, all of whom were very special sources of love, pride, and joy to her.

Visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday, October 5, 2012, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark, DE. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am on Saturday, October 6, 2012, at Holy Angels R.C. Church, 82 Possum Park Road, Newark, DE. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Peg may be made to the Gift of Life Donor Transplant Foundation, Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, 401 N. 3rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123.
