Maria Hayden Obituary
Middletown - Maria Hayden, age 91, of Middletown, DE, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 10, 2018.
Born in Meppen Hemsen, Germany on July 14, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Elizabeth Van Der Pütten. Maria was a talented seamstress and decorator and will always be remembered for her creative work.
Maria enjoyed painting, gardening and cooking but was happiest when spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Maria was preceded in death by her brother, Herman Van Der Pütten. She is survived by her sons, Shawn Hayden (Marjorie) of Townsend and Kevin Hayden of Middletown; grandchildren, Kyle Hayden and Jennifer Hayden.
A visitation of family and friends will be held from 11 am until 11:30 am on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2101 Red Lion Road, Bear, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11:30 am. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Maria's name to the Delaware Humane Association, 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.

Wir vermissen alle Tante Mia, sie hat unser Leben bereichert. Wenn wir zusammen waren, war sie immer guter Laune, voller Charme, Witz und Esprit. Sie hatte immer ein offenes Ohr und ein feines Gespür für die Bedürfnisse Ihrer Mitmenschen. Wir tragen Mia weiter in unseren Herzen.
We all miss Auntie Mia, she has enriched our lives. When we were together, she was always in a good mood, full of charm, wit and delicacy. She always had an open ear and a keen sense for the needs of her fellows. We continue to hold Mia in our hearts.
