Otto Louis Capasso

Age 86, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Harbor Health Care & Rehabilitation Center, Lewes, DE.

He was born in Brooklyn, NY, on November 8, 1924 son of the late Ralph Capasso and Maria Deluca Capasso. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ann W. Capasso and a son, John A Capasso.

Mr. Capasso was retired from the DC Park Police where he had served for many years. Prior to becoming a policeman he served in the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. He was a life member of the American Legion and VFW and was a member and usher for many years at St. Edmond's Catholic Church, Rehoboth Beach, DE.

He is survived by a son Ralph W. Capasso and wife Alyce of Durham, NC; four daughters: Mary Ellen Ingram and husband Joseph of Frederick, MD, Janet L. Capasso of Gettysburg, PA, Patricia Ann Freeman and husband Robert of Ijamsville, MD, and Teri Capasso of Hyattsville, MD; eight grandchildren: John Capasso, Michael Capasso, Christopher Homburg, Angela Kuykendall, Jennifer Freeman, Robert Freeman Jr., Laura Freeman and Rebecca Kinney; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters: Velia Caputo and husband Anthony of Houston, TX and Rita Ryan of St. Louis, MO; many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends; and special friends Jerry and Mary Ann Palermo.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 19, at 11 am, at St. Edmond's Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE where friends may call from 10-11 am. Friends may also call at PARSELL FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATORIUM, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE on Thursday evening from 7-9 pm. Burial will be private at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
