Age 70, of Woodland Park, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2006, at the Christian Hospital.
Pat was a homemaker and enjoyed music and traveling. She was a member of Mt. Salem UM Church and the Dickenson Theatre Organ Society. She had volunteered at the Sunday Breakfast Mission and had been a former member of the Elsmere Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. Through all her illnesses Pat had continued to be positive and upbeat. She will be remembered for her cheerful and friendly disposition.
She is survived by her husband, Leroy R. Rutter; her children, Mark Rutter and his wife, Susan, of Glendale, AZ, Laurie McLaren and her husband, Scott, of Newark, DE, Patricia Bird and her husband, Robert, of San Diego, CA and Susan Rutter of Wilmington, DE; her brothers, Robert and Michael Handlin; her sisters, Mary Pierce, Lacey Goffredo, Mabel Riehm, Bernadette Cunningham, Linda McHugh, Joan Bird and Theresa McFarland; her granddaughters, Ellen and Nancy; and her dog, Topper.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2006, at 2 pm at Mt. Salem UM Church, 2629 W. 19th Street, Rockford Park, Wilmington. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 111 S. Independence Mall East, Suite 411, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
