Patti Rispoli Obituary

Patti MacDougall Rispoli

AGE: 58 • Wilmington

Patti MacDougall Rispoli, 58, of Wilmington, left for her final resting place in heaven with the sun on her face and sand between her toes, on February 20, 2016, surrounded by the love of her family after a courageous two and a half year battle with brain cancer. Patti was born on June 14, 1957, the daughter of Joan Casarella and the late James MacDougall. Patti was a proud, life-long postal worker who loved her job and co-workers. She had a playful outlook on life, an attitude she was able to retain right up until the time of her passing. Patti excelled at any competitive activity she participated in, and found her true passion on the field playing and coaching softball. She also enjoyed being a diehard Phillies and Eagles fan, no matter how lousy the season. Patti's humor and liveliness were unforgettable. All of those who knew her have fond memories of singing and dancing, especially if it meant embarrassing her daughters. Patti truly cherished her time with family and friends. To say the least, she was extremely dependable and selfless. Patti went out of her way to make the people in her life happy in nearly everything that she did.

Patti is survived by her daughter Kristen Schneider and partner Andrew Watson, and daughter Laura Schneider and beloved grandson Matthew Baker; her sister Nancy Kaminski and husband Dan; her sister Lynne Cirillo and nephew Tommy Rispoli and fiancé Katrina Malloy; niece Amanda Toney and her son Kolby, as well as other nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles; partners in crime, and god- parents to her children, Angie Bogush and Linda Christina; her beloved dogs Remi and Cali, and Grand-dog Ollie. She was preceded in death by her brother Steve MacDougall.

Patti made it clear to her family that she did not want a traditional service, therefore we ask that all who loved her please join us in a celebration of her life on Friday, Feb. 26, at Minquas Fire Hall at 21 N James St, Newport, DE 19804 from 5-9pm. The family would ask that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The Delaware Brain Tumor Walk Team/Patti Rispoli.

I have great memories of Patti during many years of grade through high school school and good times at the Woodland Heights park. Her smile was true and heart was gentle and kind. Although I'm saddened with her passing and wished I could have seen her one more time at our 40th class reunion, I'm happy she's now pain free.
