Paul Kellogg Obituary

The Right Reverend Paul A. Kellogg Age 89. Of Dover, DE. Died Friday, May 28 at Westminster Village Health Center, Dover. Bishop Kellogg was born April 11, 1931. He attended General Theological Seminary and Union Theological Seminary in New York City, graduating with a M.Div. degree. He was a Curate at the episcopal church in Glen Falls, NY from 1934-36, and a Rector at the episcopal church in Ticonderoga, NY from 1936-40. He was Rector of Christ Episcopal Church in Dover from 1940-59 and then served as Canon of the cathedral in San Juan, Puerto Rico from 1959-60. In 1960 he received an honorary S.T.D. degree and was consecrated Bishop of the Dominican Republic and served from 1960-72. He retired in 1972 and moved back to Dover. Bishop Kellogg is survived by his wife of 65 years, Helen Foote Kellogg of Dover; a daughter, Charlotte Holmes of Webster, NY; a brother, Dr. Ralph Henderson Kellogg of San Francisco, CA; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. His daughter Sidney Stevenson died in 1981. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, June 2nd at 12 noon at Christ Episcopal Church, S. State and Water Sts., Dover. Burial will be private in Christ Churchyard. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Christ Episcopal Church, PO Box 1374, Dover, DE 19903 or Westminster Village Health Center, 1175 McKee Rd., Dover, De 19904.
