Richard J. "Buzzy" Seery

Age 73, of Wilmington, DE, passed away May 22, 2011, at St. Francis Hospital.

Richard was a lifelong resident of Wilmington, DE, born to the late Elizabeth M. (Hoffman) Seery and Richard F. "Dick" Seery. He worked hard all of his life retiring after 30 years as a truck driver for Shields Lumber Co. Although retired, Richard loved to keep busy. He enjoyed working on various projects around the house. One of his favorite pastimes was restoring old cars while puttering around in his garage listening to country western music. Most of all he enjoyed spending quality time with his loved ones. He loved to travel and visited many great places, but his favorite vacation spot of all was Disney World in Florida.

He will be sadly missed by many. In addition to his parents, Richard was also preceded in death by his daughter, Geraldine "Gerry" Gregg in December 2010; and his brother, John "Jack" Seery. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Stella Seery Leonarski; sister, Marie Seery; son, Richard Seery and his wife Pat; daughters, Donna Saunders, and Barbara Russell and her fiancee Dino Mirarchi; 9 grandchildren, Lisa, Stella, Ricky, Stevie, Chris, Joe, Stacy, Jim, and Jeremy; 6 great grandchildren, Alex, Krystin, Allison, Austin, James, and Kaylee. He loved the title "Pepop" that was given to him by two of his great grandchildren, James and Kaylee.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere on Thursday evening, May 26, at 7 pm. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-7 pm, Thursday evening. Interment, Friday, May 27, in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.
