"Butch"
AGE: 62 • Newark
Robert W. Gregg, Jr., "Butch", age 62 of Newark, DE, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in London, England on November 25, 1953. As the son of a career Air Force Airman, he spent the first ten years of his life living in England, New Jersey, Mississippi, Michigan and Spain. His family settled in Delaware where Butch grew up in Robscott Manor in Newark. He graduated from Christiana High School where he met his wife in the school marching band.
Butch served his country with the United States Air Force as a flight engineer on the C5A airplane. He retired from Frito Lay with 31 years of service in May 2015.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years, Carol (Shanor) Gregg; his daughter, Erin Beckett and her husband, Greg; his son, Eric Gregg and his wife, Jennifer; his grandchildren, Andrea, Brayden and Mckinnley Gregg; his mother, Evalyn Gregg Kline; his siblings, Mark Gregg and his wife, Rita, Rick Gregg, and Kathy Callaway and her husband, Mike; his sister-in-law, Barbara Witcher; and many loving nieces and nephews and countless life-long friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Gregg, Sr.
"BBG" loved life and lived every minute to the fullest. He spent hours upon hours doing his favorite things: golfing, deep sea fishing, traveling and shopping for the best deal. He will be deeply missed by anyone who was blessed to know him.
Family and friends are invited to visit from 5:00pm - 8:00pm on Friday, December 11, 2015 at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Corpus Christi Church, 901 New Road, Elsmere, Wilmington, DE 19805. Interment will take place in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 15120, Chicago, IL 60693 or to the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, #205, New Castle, DE 19720.

Carol and Family,
It just doesn’t seem possible on December 7th, it will be 5 years since Butch passed away. He was involved in so many activities in school and touched so many lives. Butch was such a nice guy and was always smiling. He will never be forgotten and will always be remembered. You were all so blessed to have him in your lives. Butch was always a delight to be around. He was my CHS classmate and friend, and when we would see each other at reunions Butch's sense of humor and cordiality made the evening. He is missed.

Butch was an amazing man. He loved his family and lived life to the fullest, enjoying every moment. We were just so sorry to hear about Butch and just cannot imagine what you must all be going through. Butch was one of the really great guys. He cared about people and loved his family. I don't know anyone who didn't love him. In recent times, I saw him only a few times each year, mostly during the holiday season, but I always looked forward to those meetings. This is definitely a sad moment for me, and for anyone who ever knew him.
