AGE: 83 • Wilmington
Mr. LaFate departed this life on May 4, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his loving family; beloved husband of Eunice LaFate; father of Curtis (Brenda) Maureene, Vanessa, Ervin (Genie), Scott (Karen) Francene, and Jermaine (Nyktashia); brother of the late Bernard & Maurice LaFate. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, a host of other family & friends. Funeral Service will be 1 pm Monday, May 11th at Faith City Family Church, 179 Stanton-Christiana Road, Newark, DE 19702; viewing 12-1 pm only. Interment in Silverbrook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Project Restoration Ministry at the Faith City Church address.

Eunice and Family,
The Lord Jesus is a very present help during our times of dis-tress. I know our God will comfort you during this time. Uncle Robert will be greatly missed, but I'm so elated to know we will see him again. The bible says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Forever in my thoughts and prayers.

Dearest Eunis,
I am deeply saddened to hear of the lost of my Uncle Robert's death last week after the valiant fight he put up to recover from his illness. Our family and many friends morn our collective lost of your husband. We shall always miss his humor, argumentative spirit to labor a point, and concern for others. As a young child, I will always remember Robert as one of the 3 Amigos-his brothers Bernard and Maurice were always a team looking for adventure. I should add a 4th Amigo (Uncle Hershey), he too was one of the gang. There are many stories that could be told that would fill libraries. Trust me, some of the stories would make good movies, others would fill your eyes with tears for years to come. As we turn this chapter in my Uncle's life, I would like to remember him for the love he had for Enuis, Jermaine, and other family members-family gave him strength! One final tribute to the last Senior La Fate-we're going to miss you Uncle Robert....

Our hearts go out to Robert's family, children, and especially his wife Eunice, as these two were inseparable! Their love was deeper than the ocean. I know Eunice is at peace for she is a strong woman and undertands that he fought a good fight and won so many rounds! But it was time and they both knew and accepted it. But he will be missed so much, by not only Eunice, but by a community who he touched and who so loved him as well! Rest in Peace Robert, you will always live in our hearts and your spirit will always be present when we look upon our beautiful Eunice!God Bless the family and friends who will mourn the loss of our dear friend.
