Supernaw, Jr.

Age 80, of Ocean View, DE passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, October 23, 2009 at his home.

Mr. Supernaw was born in Plattsburgh, NY on July 29, 1929 son of the late Robert B. and Dorothy (Martin) Supernaw, Sr. For several years Robert and his father owned and operated R.B. Supernaw & Son, a fuel oil, kerosene and propane business in Schuyler Falls, NY. Robert was a member of Doric Lodge, Nur Temple, Frankford Chapter OES, Tall Cedars and the Millville United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Claire (Parks) Supernaw; a son, Roger Supernaw and his wife, Christine; a daughter, Sheila Scannell; a sister, Betty Anne Neary and her husband, Tom; 4 grandchildren, Scott, Heidi, Meghan and Conner; a step-grandson, Alden Gerow; 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2009 at the OCEAN VIEW CHAPEL OF MELSON FUNERAL SERVICES, 38040 Muddy Neck Rd., Ocean View, DE 19970, where friends and family may call after 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Mariner's Bethel Cemetery in Ocean View.

Flowers are acceptable or in lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions in Robert's name to Compassionate Care Hospice, 31038 Country Garden Blvd., Suite D2, Dagsboro, DE 19939.
