AGE: 63 • Wilmington
Passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Seasons Hospice, surrounded by her family.
Robin was born in Baltimore, MD on June 30, 1952. She graduated from Northwestern High School in 1970. She worked for and retired from DuPont in the General Services Department after 20 years of service. She was involved in the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW. She had a great love of all music and was an avid reader. She cherished all animals, especially her cat, Precious.
She was an amazing woman who loved and cared about her family and friends deeply.
Robin was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Smith, who died in August, 2012, and her father, Gilbert S. Downie. She is survived by her son, Jason C. Evers, and his wife, Tamara; her daughter, Melissa A. Evers; her grandchildren, Destiny, and Gabriel; her mother, Catherine Downie; her siblings, Miriam Higgins, Gilbert Downie, Jr., Robert Downie, and Joyce "Jodee" Pate; her former husband, Warren "Sonny" Evers; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Service on Wednesday, March 16, at 7:00 pm at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Highway, Elsmere. A viewing will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5:00-7:00 pm. Burial will take place on Thursday, March 17, at 10:00 am at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Robin's name to your favorite charity.

It still breaks my heart that you are gone. I don't know if Facebook gets read in Heaven but just in case I want to send my thoughts to you. I miss you and I think of you every day. I love you so very much. I hope you are at peace with Carl. Please send me a sign that you are ok.

Dear Family....God bless you as you adjust your lives with the absence of your loved one. I am so sorry for your loss. I love and care soooo much for Robin. I 'met' her on Pogo. She was one of the first people I ever 'connected' with as I would never reach out to people as I was afraid of creeps..LOL! She was so warm and welcoming and loving. I will never forget the day that Carl passed....she never was the same after that. I am going to miss her so much and the sunshine she brought to my life and so many others. Know that I and many others are praying for you all and care so very much. Never forget that she lives on in each of you and you now have a special Angel that is with you all the time....Feel her all around you.
