Rosemary Andreavich Obituary

Rosemary

Andreavich

Rosemary (Kuzminsky) Andreavich, age 92, died at her granddaughter's home Kathy DeMatties on 16 Oct 2012 surrounded by her family.

She was born on 24 Sep 1920 in Rockingham, PA and raised in Revloc, PA, married 1940 and resided in Johnstown, PA until 1954 when she and her family moved to New Castle, DE.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Andreavich Sr., her parents Michal and Mary Kuzminsky, brother James (wife Florence), brother Michael, sister Margaret and sister Catherine Hopfer (Lawrence).

She is survived by her son William Jr. (wife Joanne) of Newark, DE and daughter Nancy of New Castle, DE; his children: Renee Pac, Kathy DeMatties, Jessica Andreavich, Sherry Leitner, spouses Richard, Conrad, Devin and Daniel and granddaughter Amanda all of Newark, DE. Also her children: Gary Showalter and wife Jennifer of Newark, DE, Michal Szumlanski of Sanibel, FL, William Showalter of Newark, DE, grandchildren: Pamela, Dennis, Nathaniel, Eleanor, Katelyn, Joanna, Devin, Stephen and Colby.

Rosemary worked at Delaware Mills for two years then became a longtime caretaker for both her in-laws until their passing. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, fishing, crabbing and most of all was an avid bowler almost every day until age 89 when she no longer had the strength to continue. She was well known for her favorite food of "Plutskies" which she served to many people throughout her life and had them for the last time at 4 o'clock Sunday morning. She was a good neighbor, friendly to all and enemy to no one.

Special thanks to the DeMatties family, especially her grandson Dennis Johnson for the excellent care he gave to her in the last 3 month of her life.

Interment will be private at Gracelawn Cemetery. The family appreciates donations to Delaware Hospice, 3515 Silverside Road, Wilmington, DE 19810, in lieu of flowers which she dearly loved.
