We are so sorry to hear of Roy's passing. Please accept our sincere condolences. We will always remember Roy as the best timer that Skyline Pool ever had. The swim team allowed us all to become friends.

Gena and Family,
We are so sorry for your loss.
Roy was a very special person to us, too, and we have known him since the mid 1950's.
We grew up in Sussex, NJ (Irene & Mary Ellen Doland) and each year our cousin, Rita Luch, who otherwise lived in Allentown, PA, would come and spend the summer with us. Rita started doing this when she was approximately 9 yrs. old and stopped when she was 12 or 13.
Sussex wasn't a real exciting place, but every summer we had the very best 4th of July picnic at my parents' house. Naturally Roy, Jennie and Al were among those invited, as well as all our neighbors. The kids played croquet, baseball, etc. and anything we could think of to entertain ourselves (including whatever mischief we could find).
Roy's parents, Jennie & Al, were very close with our parents—Norwood & Edna Doland. They went to the same Church, the Sussex Christian Reformed Church, and, of course, brought Roy with them. During the winter, Friday nights were Catechism nights at the church and our parents used that time to visit and catch up on all the news while the three of us went to Bible Study.
The Doland Family moved to California in 1961, but Rita especially continued to stay in touch with Roy, at first writing him when he attended his first year at Bob Jones University and later up to the present time via email. Roy was like a big brother to Rita.
Roy will definitely be missed by everyone.
We send you our love and prayers.

To All,
I am so sorry to read of Roy's passing. He was a kind spirit and I enjoyed his company so much. I remember fondly playing softball on the Limestone team so long ago. He was always welcoming and appreciative of everyone's talents. God bless you all.
