Sandy, not a moment goes by in my day that I don't think about you. I am so grateful to have had you in my life and for all the things you taught me. I am a better person because of your special way. Dallas plays songs to you on his guitar at night. I hope you can hear him. Kyle is keeping Heather busy, Wayne is doing good and Willow is playing with Rudy alot. I know I said it a million times over the past few months, but I love you. I feel selfish to miss you so badly because I am happy that your pain is finally gone. I promise to always be there for Jerry, Heather and Wayne. I promise to never forget to be the person you made me. You will always be my best friend and I feel lost without you here. Rest well, until we meet again. Kiss mom for me. Your sister, Karen xoxo

Sandy never made judgements and could always keep a confidence, even when none of us know what she was going through. The problems of others were her main concern. Sleep with the angels, Sandy.

I wish Sandy's family love and compassion and happiness. She was an indispensable part of The Review family, too, and I can't count how many of my friends and former colleagues knew and loved her.

She was the responsible adult in a room filled with often wacky minds. She kept us grounded when the notion of budgets (money, not stories) was foreign to us as young journalists.

I hope Sandy knew and believed that so many of us who passed through those doors appreciated her work, her counsel and her personality.

I knew Sandy from my work at the University of Delaware's student newspaper (The Review). Even though I hadn't seen her or spoken to her in years, I'll always remember her kindness and positive attitude around the office. In a hectic place, she was always the calm voice of reason. My condolences to her family and others who were close to her - you'll all be in my thoughts and prayers.

Rest in peace, Sandy.

My deepest condolences to Gerry and family, to my brothers and sisters and their families. I have not found words since Carmen called me today in the middle of the night to tell me, that Sandy passed away. The first thing that came in to my mind: her wonderful smile and contagious laugh - now it is our turn to cry. My prayers are with my family at this time of loss.

Sandy was an amazing woman, which reflects in her children. I have been blessed to not only be friends with her daughter Heather, but also to have had the chance to get to know Sandy. I will always remember her kindness and hospitality that can be matched by few. You will be missed by so many, but most importantly forever remembered for the kindness and generosity you showed so many of us!

I met Sandy when she worked at the Review as the business manager/office coordinator/mom to all of us college student reporters and photographers. Always having a smile even when her day was not going well. Always said hello and would take the time to talk to each of us to find out about our day and how we were doing especially when we were stressed with deadlines. She will be missed. My condolences and prayers to her family. She was a great and wonderful lady.

Words can't describe how supportive Sandy was of me and other student journalists when we worked at The Review at UD. You couldn't have asked for a kinder (and more patient, to be sure!) office manager/office mom. My condolences to her entire family.
