Stephen Uhrick Obituary
AGE: 56 • Newark
Stephen G. Uhrick, age 56, died unexpectedly in Martinez, CA, while on an assignment for Mistras Group. Born to Theresa and Edward Uhrick, Stephen attended Conrad High School, graduating in 1976. Immediately following graduation, Stephen began his career in the oil refining industry. He was currently employed at Mistras Group where he worked as a refinery inspector. While working in the refining industry he achieved many certifications and awards. Stephen was known as a people person, always available to lend a helping hand, and his favorite place to be was at the beach. Steve was a family man and he loved to entertain family and friends. He enjoyed watching sports and his favorite teams were the Eagles and the Phillies. During the games, it was a tradition for Steve to be on the phone with Uncle Jimmy routing for their favorite teams. Steve will always be remembered.
Stephen was predeceased by his son, Stephen; mother, Theresa; siblings, Carol and Ralph. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Loretta; daughters, Carissa, Ashley (Sheldon Singh), and Lauren Uhrick; 5 grandchildren, Savannah, Shania, and Jayden Uhrick, Makayla Rodgers, and Khylee Singh; father, Edward; siblings, Linda Billela (Michael), Marie Nichols, Edward (Ramona), Johnny, and Melissa Patton (Miles); sister-in-law, Barbara Uhrick; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 6-8 pm at the McCRERY & HARRA Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway (Rt. 2 at Duncan Rd.), Wilmington, DE 19808. Another viewing will be held the following day at the funeral home from 10:30-11, followed by the funeral service at 11 am. Interment will take place at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to help with funeral expenses.

Sorry Loretta I wasn´t aware of steve´s passing. Man we had a blast working together in the 80´s at martin marretta and in Jersey at the nuke plant for 4 years!! What a great friend he was!! Sorry we didn´t keep in touch but my job had me all around the country. Retired now and having fun with my 2 grandsons! It´s not fare loretta is it. God always takes the great ones? I think he was a good man. I was good friends with Little Eddie in Wilmington as a young child when I met Stephen a few times around Mr. Uhrick's house. I hope that everyone in the Uhrick family is doing well.

My heart goes out to the entire family... Steve worked with me back in the 80's doing NDT at what was then Martin Marietta down in Middle River Md..We became great friends there-after. We kept in touch through the years.We would meet around Christmas time and knock down a few beers and share a few laughs... We last met two years ago. Steve will be sorely missed. He had such a big heart, and always had a smile on his face. I will miss my friend, and I also know he loved his Loretta, and his daughters very much. He was one of a kind!
