THOMAS GUYER Obituary

Thomas L. Guyer Age 80, of Milford, DE, formerly of Red Mill Rd., Newark, died on Sunday, October 29, 2000 at the Milford Memorial Hospital. Mr. Guyer retired in 1985 from the DuPont Company after 15 years as a machinist. Prior to that, he worked 22 years for United Steel. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the First Division and survived on the three-beach invasion at North Africa, Sicily, and Normandy. He was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus-St. Michael's Council, a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Milford, and a former member of St. John the Beloved Church in Pike Creek. He was an avid bowler. His daughter, Mary Ellen, predeceased him. Mr. Guyer is survived by his wife of 52 years, Helen Marth Guyer; 3 sons, Richard, Joseph, and Thomas; 4 daughters, Mary Bradley, Eileen Underwood, Margaret Coulter and Barbara Rose; a sister, Jeanne Ellis; and 18 grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 2 at 11 am at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Rd., Wilmington. Friends are invited to attend visitation on Thursday morning from 9:30-10:30 am at MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, Limestone and Milltown Rds., Wilmington. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Little Sisters of the Poor, 185 Salem Church Rd., Newark, DE 19713.
