Thomas Lawler Obituary
Newark - Thomas Roger Lawler, age 81, of Newark, DE, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018. Thomas was surrounded by his family as he departed this world for heaven.
He served in the Army during the Korean War. Tom started his welding career at the Philadelphia shipyard; later in life, he worked as a welder for the union pipe fitters.
Thomas loved his family; he enjoyed skiing, bicycling, and traveling.
He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas Joseph Lawler and Alfreda Ladner Lawler.
Thomas is survived by his two children Thomas Lawler, Jr. (Joan) and Jeanine Lawler Stalter (Kenneth), along with 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 11:30 am at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702. The Visitation hour will take place at 10:30 am at the funeral home. The Committal Service will take place at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear at 1 pm.

I enjoyed talking with Tom every Sunday morning at the deli until he was no longer able to do his own shopping. I will miss him just as everyone else will who knew him and loved him.

My sincere condolences to Tom's family. I had the privilege of working with Tom for a short period of time ; he was a very nice , mild mannered gentleman who helped me when I needed it the most. I will always remember him. Sorry for your loss Tommy old friend.
