Tim Panchak Obituary
Tim Andrew Panchak, 58, of Wilmington passed away after a brief battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on Friday, June 6, 2014 at the Heartland Hospice House surrounded by his loving family.
Tim grew up in North Wilmington and was a graduate of Brandywine High School and the University of Delaware. He worked as an estimator for many years, most recently with East Coast Plumbing & HVAC, Inc. He was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 74 and "Fun, Inc." He enjoyed many national and international journeys but his greatest joy and accomplishment was being a devoted dad to his precious daughters. He was his girls' No. 1 fan and supporter in all of their varied activities. Tim was always available to lend a helping hand and was a loyal friend to all. He was lovingly referred to as the "energizer bunny" and no task was ever too great. His life experiences filled him with abundant knowledge so much that his family referred any and all questions to "Ask Jeeves." Tim lived his life on his terms and left a lasting impression on all who were privileged to know him. He will be deeply missed by all. "Because I knew you, I have been changed for the good."
Tim is survived by his wife of 25 years, Fran (DeLuca) and his beloved daughters, Bethany, Emily and Holly; his parents, John and Dorothy Panchak; brothers, Robert (Paula), Ace (Sue), sister, Terry Sassaman (Paul) and sisters-in-law, Tina Distefano (Tom) and MaryAnna Sigmund and many nieces, nephews and countless friends whom he considered family.
A Celebration of Tim's Life will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at McCrery Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, where family and friends may call from 10:00am to 12:00pm. In honoring Tim's memory, please dress casually. Overflow parking will be available in the YMCA lot behind the funeral home. I met Tim and his daughters on a camping trip back in September '13 and that was an incredible time I'll never forget. The night we spent talking about life around the campfire was the highlight of the trip. After that night I knew he was amazing man that left an impact. My deepest prayers, and sympathies to all of Tim's loved ones.

Franny and family,
We were devastated to hear of your loss and our hearts and prayers are with you. Maybe Tim and Aunt Sandy have already met and she made him some broccoli rabe! We were at the wake, made it into the YMCA parking lot, and we quickly realized how truly special Tim was by the unbelievable long line. Unfortunately, we had an appointment to finalize mom's arrangements and were not able to stay and see you. I am so sorry.

My sincere condolences to you all. I had the pleasure of knowing Tim because of work. For easily the first year he and I communicated with one another I had no idea what his first name was because he only ever answered the phone with an enthusiastic "Panchak".
