Valentina CAPUTO Obituary

Valentina D. Caputo Age 80 of Kennett Square, PA passed away Monday, September 13, 2004, at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE. She was the wife of the late William L. "Dibby" Caputo, who passed away in February of this year and with whom she shared 56 years of marriage. Born in Wilmington, DE, she was the daughter of the late Eusebius J. DaVia and Emilia Rosso DaVia. She was a retired clerk of the Bayard Taylor Memorial Library in Kennett Square. Valentina enjoyed cooking, crocheting, reading, and babysitting for her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Patrick Church in Kennett Square, the Swayne, Campbell, Testa VFW Post #5467 Auxiliary; and the Kennett Auxiliary to the former Southern Chester County Hospital. She is survived by 2 sons, William L. "Dibby" Caputo, Jr. of Kennett Square, PA and Edward E. Caputo of Coatesville, PA; 2 daughters, Amelia G. Piperis and Dianne C. Smith, both of Kennett Square, PA; 2 sisters, Agnes DaVia of Kennett Square, PA and Emily DePippo of Ocala, FL; and 7 grandchildren. She was predeceased by 1 brother, Angelo DaVia. Family and friends are invited to attend Valentina's life celebration from 8-9:30 am on Friday, September 17, 2004, at the KUZO & GOFUS FUNERAL HOME, LTD., "A Life Celebration Home", State & Meredith Sts., Kennett Square. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Friday at St. Patrick Church, Cypress & Meredith Sts., Kennett Square. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Patrick Church, 212 Meredith St., Kennett Square, PA 19348; or to the Bayard Taylor Memorial Library, PO Box 730, Kennett Square, PA 19348.
