Walter Fisher Obituary

Walter L. Fisher

Ephraim, WI, formerly of Elsmere, DE - Walter L. Fisher, 76, formerly of Elsmere, resident of Ephraim, WI, died on August 30, 2018. Walt was a 1959 graduate of Henry C. Conrad High School, attended Kansas State University receiving a degree in architecture in 1964. He married Kathy Frick and they had two children, Richard and Eric. They lived in Kansas City and Wales. They divorced but worked together in raising their two sons. In 1983 he married Joan Fitzpatrick and in 1988 they moved to Ephraim, WI. Together they ran the French Country Inn Bed & Breakfast for 27 years.

Walt was a member of Ephraim's Historic Preservation Committee, the Ephraim Planning Committee and helped to organize the Open Door Bird Sanctuary.

He is predeceased by his parents, Bill and Bessie Fisher; his brothers, Howard, Bill, Dick, and Marvin, who died September 23rd; and his son, Richard. He is survived by his wife, Joan; son, Eric; and daughter-in-law Jennifer. Memorial services were held at the Ephraim Moravian Church on September 12, 2018. Memorial donations may be made to Ephraim Moravian Church, P.O. Box 73, Ephraim, WI 54211 or to the Open Door Bird Sanctuary, 4114 Co. Rd 1, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235.
