WILFRED PLOMIS Obituary

Wilfred J. Plomis

Age 79, of Wilmington, DE, passed away Monday, September 25, 2006.

He was born in Eddystone, PA, and raised in Chester, PA. He lived in Wilmington for 35 years. He graduated from Chester High School in 1945, then served in the Navy during WWII. After he completed his service in the Navy, he went to PMC (Widener University) where he received his Bachelor's Degree, graduating in 1951. He worked for Sun Oil from 1952-1971 in Petroleum Exploration. After leaving Sun Oil, he began his own business, Plomis Oil & Gas consultants, operating out of Washington, DC. He also owned and managed an apartment complex in Sun Village, PA from 1965-1995. In the early 1990s, he ran for U.S. Senate. In 1996, he ran for Governor of Delaware. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed the beach in Ocean City, MD. In college, he enjoyed playing basketball and football. He was an avid skier and loved the mountains.

He is predeceased by his parents, Alexander and Helen Slowik Plomis; and his wife of 48 years, Emma B. Mosier Plomis, who passed away in 2001. He is survived by 2 daughters, Michele M. Moehrle, and husband, Frank, of Palm City, FL, and Sharon A. Braun, and husband, Alan, of Alexandria, VA; and 3 grandchildren, Danielle Holvig, and her husband, Erik, Crystal Moehrle, and Frank Moehrle, Jr.

Viewings will be held Sunday, October 1, from 7-9 pm and Monday, October 2, from 9:15-10:15 am at the MORELAND-PAGANO FUNERAL HOME, 825 Main Street, Glen Mills, PA. Funeral service is on Monday, October 2 at 11 am at Chichester Baptist Church, 800 Cherry Tree Road, Aston, PA. Interment in Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills, PA.
