Antoinette Matteo Obituary

Antoinette “Nettie” Matteo 91 of Springfield, died July 26, 2021 at her home. Born in Philadelphia, she lived in Crum Lynne and Ambler before moving to her late residence 14 years ago. Nettie was a graduate of Bok Vocational School, class of 1947. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, the Sodality and was a volunteer at the church. Nettie loved cooking, her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the wife of the late Rocco D. Matteo, her husband of 58 years, who died in 2007; daughter of the late Frank and Marie Cortela Caranci; mother of the late Nicandro J. Matteo (Anita) and was the last of eleven children. Nettie is survived by her sons, Rocco D. Matteo, Jr. (Helen), Dr. Anthony J. Matteo, M.D. (Denise) and Marc Matteo (Sharon); 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Funeral Mass 11:00AM Saturday, July 31, 2021 at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, 1901 Chester Pike, Eddystone, PA 19022 where relatives and friends may call from 9:00 to 10:45AM. Burial SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Memorial gifts to Passionate Care Hospice, 600 N. Jackson St., Media, PA 19063 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
