1939-2018 Bernadette F. McCann Cassidy, 79, of Ridley Park died May 22, 2018 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Kissane McCann. Bern was proud to have been born and raised in the “Devil’s Pocket” of Philadelphia. She moved to her late residence 44 years ago. Bern was a graduate of John B. Hallahan High School, class of 1956 and was employed by the GMP Allied Workers International Union, Tri-County Hospital, and Bell Telephone Company. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church and was an avid reader. Bern loved spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed going to the casinos with her grandchildren and spending time with her two great grandchildren. Bern was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Joseph B. Cassidy, III, who died August 14, 2010; also, her siblings, Mary Lou Quigley, Thomas McCann, Joan Maloney, Dorothy McCann and Helen McCann. She was the mother of Clare Martin (Bob) and Mary Ann Keenan (Bill); grandmother of Lauren Petterson (David), Katelyn Martin, Billy Keenan (Sarah), Lindsay Martin and Alissa Bonagura (Michael); and great grandmother of J.J. and Olivia. Visitation: 8:30-10:45 AM Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park, PA 19078. Funeral Mass: 11:30 AM Thursday at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, 208 Milmont Ave., Milmont Park, PA 19033. Burial: Holy Cross Cemetery.
