Daniel John Orensky

1955 - 2018

Daniel John Orensky, 62, of Somers Point, formerly of Ocean City, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Atlanticare Regional Medical Center. Daniel, son of the late Herbert and Dolores Orensky (Cummings), was born in Darby, PA on September 20, 1955. He was a 1973 graduate of Sharon Hill High School, also attending West Chester University, and later graduating from Stockton College in 2002. He had been a Lifeguard at the Folcroft Swim Club and was awarded the Outstanding Young Man award in 1990. Daniel was a longtime employee of UPS and currently worked for Credit Mediators, Inc. Daniel was one of a kind, a true gentleman, who was a friend to many. He will be remembered for his gift of gab, thoughtfulness, and caring nature. Daniel was a train enthusiast, who loved sports, particularly the ones played by his nieces or nephews. He was an avid Philadelphia sports team fan, and an inventor of his own version of baseball analytics. He enjoyed DJ’ing for friends and was fond of his enormous album collection. Daniel is survived by his siblings, Herb (Jill), Joanne Kelly, and Carol Pace (Rocco Sr.); Nieces and nephews, Matt (Nancy), Jamie Fisher (Jack), Kyle (Abby), Jack Kelly, Juneann Baker (Mike), Kevin (Shana), Rocco Jr. (Melissa), Joe, Theresa Sladek (Rob); 8 great-nieces and nephews with one on the way: Kayla, Mikey, Haley, Rocco III, Ava, Sammy, Cora, and Ben. Services and Interment will be held at 12pm on Saturday, June 16th at Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA. Arrangements by the George H. Wimberg Funeral Home, Linwood – Ventnor.
