E. Deisher Obituary

E. Franklin "Frank" Deisher, 78 Of Boothwyn, PA E. Franklin "Frank" Deisher, 78, died on January 8, 2012 at Lankenau Hospital. Born to the late John J. and Margaret P. Wilson Deisher in Philadelphia. He was raised in S. Philadelphia, has resided in Upper Chichester for the past 3 years and previously in Chadds Ford, PA. Upon attending Temple University School of Law at night while delivering milk, Frank's father, John Deisher started a Real Estate brokerage business in 1913 at 1617 Point Breeze Avenue in South Philadelphia under the name of John Deisher, Inc. The day after being honorably discharged from the Army in 1956 and returning home, John woke Frank at 6 AM and told him he was going to work in the family business. Frank honed his skills in the days when most business was earned by reputation and done with a handshake and honoring your word meant everything. Frank purchased the business from his parents in the early 1970's and expanded to a second location in S.W. Philadelphia and added insurance and property management services for his clients. As his many friends and associates will attest, Frank was a staunch advocate for the real estate industry locally, statewide and nationally. Frank was tirelessly involved in professional and civic activities. In the 1980's Frank realized that the market was changing and franchises were quickly becoming the industry standard. Frank formed Century 21 Deisher Associates and continued to grow and service his many long term clients until merging with Century 21 Advantage Gold allowing the business to become part of a very successful regional company. In 2007 Century 21 Advantage Gold started the First Annual "E. Franklin Deisher Award". This honor is to be awarded annually to a deserving Member of Century 21 Advantage Gold in Recognition and Appreciation of Outstanding Effort and Dedication to the Continued Growth of Professionalism and Service in the Real Estate Industry. He served as President of the Philadelphia Board of Realtors - South Council, the only two-term President in history. In 1980, he served as President of the Greater Phila. Board of Realtors, he was the GPAR, Realtor of the Year, he was also a member and director of the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors and chaired/served on numerous committees. A 32nd Degree Mason, he belonged to the Pilgrim Lodge 712 F&AM in Center City Philadelphia. A dedicated member for over 55 years, he served as Worshipful Master in 1970. He was a former member of the Media Presbyterian Church until 2010 where he served as an Elder and on the long range planning committee. Dear Jennifer and family,
I'm not sure if you remember me( I hope so) but I was your nurse in Peds at Mercy Fitz many years ago. I have fond memories of your Dad and family even during those difficult times. You are in my prayers. It looks like you are all grown up now with a family of your own. That surely made me smile.
Take care. Love to you and your family.
