Edward Smith Obituary

Edward C. Smith, Jr., age 84 Edward C. Smith, Jr., age 84, of Folsom, formerly a 50 year resident of Wallingford, died peacefully Dec. 15, surrounded by his family. Born in Chester to the late Edward C. Sr., and Alice Thompson, Ed graduated from Chester High School in 1946. Ed attended PMC College and Temple University, he also served in the Army. Ed began his career at Scott Paper where he worked in the Research Division for thirty years until his retirement in 1989. He enjoyed automotive repair and maintained his state inspection license for many years. Ed enjoyed bowling, waterskiing, and crossword puzzles. Predeceased by his wife Mary Jane in 2008 and sister Geraldine "Gerry" Turnbull. Survivors: His children Diane Smith Williams (David) of West Brandywine, and Kevin Smith (Kelly) of Folsom. Grandchildren TJ and Shannon Dunphy, sister-in-law Marion Smith of Weatherly, Pa. Beloved dogs Cody and Callie. Services: Relatives and Friends are invited to his Funeral Service Thurs., 11a.m. in the J. Nelson Rigby Funeral Home 1 W. Baltimore Avenue Media, calling 10-10:45. Interment: Lawn Croft Cemetery.
