Dr. Elizabeth C. Bell, age 79 Dr. Elizabeth C. Bell, age 79, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2013 at Georgetown University Medical Center surrounded by her family. A Delaware County resident most of her life, she has been a resident of Rehoboth Beach, DE for many years. Her most cherished role was as mother of her six children, providing nurturing, love, encouragement, support, and education. Her professional career comprised a rich diversity of positions including Teacher at The School in Rose Valley, Head of the Delaware County Council for Literacy, Psychology Professor, Family Practice Physician, and most recently, author of her first novel, "Arbor Lane." Dr. Bell received numerous honors and awards throughout her career including selection as "Woman of the Year" in Media, PA and recognition as one the "Tops Docs" in Delaware. Survivors: Dr. Bell will be dearly missed by her six children, Joe (Margi), Mike (Terry), and Tom (Janice) Piorkowski, Anne (Jim) Hovis, Beth (John) Ruskey, and Christine (Rob) Barth; her brothers, Dick and Steve Bell, her eleven grandchildren; her best friend, Peg Kemske; and her numerous other beloved friends and relatives. Visitation: Friday, 7-9PM and Saturday 8:30-9:30AM, at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley. My husband and I were both patients of "Dr. Bell". The best doctor we ever had. She always took time out of her busy schedule to address your problems. This lead to personal relationship with Elizabeth which we both cherish to this day. We still miss Elizabeth very much. Best person we ever knew. The world lost a wonderful person. Our thoughts are with her family.

I was Dr. Bell's patient in Media for years. She was so kind and helpful to me during very difficult times. I her greatly...she was quite an inspiration to me. I am very fortunate to have known her and been the recipient of her superior care. My thoughts are with her family at this difficult time.

Dr. Bell was a wonderful, caring, devoted doctor. I was her patient when she had her practice in Media and I will forever feel fortunate to have recieved her great care and insight. She was such an inspiration.

Elizabeth and myself shared first names. During her years in Media we often spoke of how we preferred to be spoken to. Elizabeth was partial to Elizabeth; myself Betty Ann. Elizabeth was a professional and caring individual to everyone she came in contact with. She will be missed. How proud her family must be to have shared a Mother and Sister who was so very loving.

While many of us never met her, we know of her deep commitment and dedication to health and her patients, and to her family through her brother Steve, who is part of the Neumann family for many years. She was my first doctor in Delaware county when I moved here in 1993. I remember she sat there with her big yellow legal pad and acted as if she had all the time in the world for you. I was sad when she moved to Lewes, Delaware, but wished the best for because she was so nice. When my wife and I would travel in that area. We would remember her and wonder how she was doing. We are sorry for your loss of a very special person.
