George Frazier Obituary

George H. Frazier George H. Frazier was called to rest on February 17, 2013, after 89 years of faithful service to his Lord, family and community. George was born in Mission Home, VA to Thomas and Minnie Frazier, and had left high school to serve as an Army medic in World War II with his five brothers. He deployed to Europe until war's end, discharging honorably to attend Washington Bible College and later, King's College. It was at King's College that he met Margaret Buckley whom he married in Philadelphia. George served the Chester Christian School as teacher, principal and parent, and also as deacon for the North Chester Baptist Church. George and Margaret resided in Claymont, DE and then for many years in Concordville, PA but as his family grew, George moved to Thornton, leaving private education for the West Chester Area School District; he taught at East Goshen ES, Thornbury ES, Stetson MS and North MS. He completed graduate degrees at the University of Delaware and West Chester State College. Thousands of young people benefitted from his instruction, his prayers and mentorship. George Frazier believed in "No Child Left Behind" decades before it became a government program. He is remembered as a compassionate teacher by many. Survivors: his beloved wife Margaret (nee Buckley), his three children Paul Frazier of Albuquerque, NM, John Frazier of Kennett Square and Gail Gray of Newark, DE; as well as 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral Service: Thursday, 11:00 am., at the Nolan - Fidale Funeral Home, Ltd., 5980 Chichester Avenue in Aston. Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery, Aston. Visitation: Thursday, from 10:00 am. to 11:00 am., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers: to The Christian Academy, 4301 Chandler Drive in Brookhaven, PA 19015.
