Gloria Davis Bannister

Gloria Davis (nee Davis) Bannister, 67 Chester resident Gloria Davis Bannister passed away peacefully at Wallingford Nursing Home on October 24, 2012. Gloria was born and raised in Chester Township where she lived for nearly all of her life. She was a former member of Bethany Baptist Church. Gloria worked at Cheyney University, Teledyne Wirz, Medford Meats and Action Mailers before becoming permanently disabled in 2000. Gloria was well known for baking huge cakes and sweet potato pies for her family and friends. What she enjoyed most in life was being surrounded by her loved ones as she prepared breakfast, lunch, or dinner for everyone to feast upon. Gloria was pre-deceased by her parents Clyde A. Davis and Susie A. Wright Davis; her siblings Shirley Jean Culbreath, James Davis, Curtis Davis, Ronald Davis, and Clyde L. Davis Sr.; her granddaughter Juanika Gordon. Family: Gloria is survived by her daughters Angela Davis-Richardson (Gary) and Joanne Bannister Ferguson, both of Chester PA; son Ronald E. Bannister Jr. of Chester, PA; brothers Morton Davis (Arlene) of Wilmington, DE, Willie Davis of Chester, PA, and Perry Davis, of Philadelphia, PA; her sister Dorothy Ann Davis-Carter, of Aldan, PA; 7 grandchildren - Brian, Michael, Tahkita, Janae, Janine, Juakira and Ronald III; special sister-in-law Patricia Davis; 5 great-grandchildren. Service: Family and friends are invited to a Funeral Service on Monday November 5th at 11 AM at Community Baptist Church, 325 West 7th Street, Chester, PA. Viewing 9 to 11 AM Monday at the Church.
