James Constantino Obituary

03/11/1955 - 03/30/2023 James B. Constantino, 68, of Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, passed away after a long illness on March 30, 2023. He was born in Tours, France and came to the United States at the age of 18 months. He was raised in Chester and Rutledge, PA and was a 1978 graduate of the Criminal Justice Program at West Chester State College (now WCU). He also received an IT degree from Delaware County Community College. Jim previously worked for the Delaware County Juvenile Justice System but spent most of his career in the IT Department at Crozer-Chester Medical Center. After retirement Jim volunteered extensively for the Red Cross, being sent to disaster areas, such as Hurricane Sandy, to reestablish IT systems. Jim was a long-time volunteer fireman, from 1971 to 1993, with The Rutledge Fire Company No. 13 (later The Morton-Rutledge Fire Company No. 13). He was also a long-time girls softball umpire and past president of the Folsom Boy's Club. Jim was an avid sports fan for his daughter Jennifer as she played basketball and volleyball for Ridley High School and volleyball for Haverford College as well as for her volleyball coaching career at Albright College, Quincy University, and Lake Superior State University. He loved music, playing guitar and singing as a regular at local coffee houses. Jim was also a lover of animals. He was a pet parent to many fur babies, both dogs and cats, and a supporter of animal rescue farms. Jim is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 43 years Carol (nee Aha), and his daughter Jennifer. He leaves behind his mother, Monique Constantino, his brother John Constantino (Ginger) and sister Michelle Lazar (Ed). He was predeceased by his father Nicholas Constantino. He also leaves behind many nephews and nieces: Philip, Abigail, Madeline, and Naomi Constantino and Marie, Michael (LeAnne), and Matthew (Tiffany) Lazar. Also, great nephew Lucas Lazar and great niece Mia Lazar. Family and friends are invited to his Visitation from 10:00-11:00 AM on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at the Chapel at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 2130 Franklin Avenue, Morton, PA 19070. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions to The Morton-Rutledge Fire Company No. 13, The American Red Cross, or The Gentle Barn would be appreciated.
