His Notre Dame Girl
January 31, 2015
Jim Nangle was my favorite resident at Little Flower Manor and will be missed. He loved to tell jokes and tell stories about his life. I have so many funny memories of him. One day I walked into his room to say hello. He was upset because he lost his dentures. I was looking all over the room for him. Well guess where I found them? I found them inside his drawer, inside a box of cookies wrapped in a napkin. He was so happy that I found them. He then said," that's where all my cookies went, my dentures ate them!" He also told me another joke about his dentures. He said," why are dentures called stars?" Because they come out at night. He also loved to talk to me about Notre Dame College Football. He called me his Notre Dame Girl. I will never forget Jim Nangle. R.I.P

So sorry to hear about Jim. He was the nicest man. My wife and I lived on the floor below him on Abbey Terrace in the late 1980's. I had just started to work for Septa as a Regional Rail Train Conductor and once we found out we had so much in common,we would talk for hours at a time about work situations,procedures,etc. I even put him in touch a couple of years ago with one of his former co-workers he hadn't seen in years who was also in his 90's and still working as a ticket agent at the Media train station. Jim loved talking over the old times with him.I lost touch with Jim over the last couple years trying to leave messages for him and not knowing if he had moved or not. I was so sad to find out he had passed away. My prayers and sympathy to the family.

Pop,
Where do I start? Although my heart is heavy and my eyes are not dry, I am smiling when I think of you because I know that you are home. No more sadness only happiness and peace surrounds you.
"May the raindrops fall lightly on your brow. May the soft winds freshen your spirit. May the sunshine brighten your heart. May the burdens of the day rest lightly upon you, and may God enfold you in the mantle of His love."
I love you and we will see each other again....

Pop, I love you & I am going to miss you terribly! You will forever be in my heart...??
??
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields
and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
XOXO
