James V. Pirritano

1928 - 2022

James V. Pirritano, 93 of Aldan PA, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday March 5th, 2022. James was born in South Philadelphia to the late John and Mary in 1928. He was the devoted husband of the late Rita Pirritano (Fiego). He was the beloved daddy of Christine (Thomas) and the adoring Poppop of Cartier. He is survived by his siblings Carmen, John and Marie (Urbansky) and the late Anne and Jenny (Calabria). James was also the daddy of his two fur babies Bella and Baby. After joining the U.S. Navy at a young age and serving his country, James had a very long career with Penn Fruit Supermarket. He eventually moved on to work at Shop Rite and retired as a meat manager in 1989. James loved being with his family and friends. He especially loved animals. Every stray animal always knew where to go for a meal. James was an avid collector of antiques and loved going to flea markets. He enjoyed traveling and his favorite place in the whole world was Italy. He was the kindest and most generous man. He always had the brightest and biggest smile that would light up any room he walked in to. Everyone who knew him loved him. James will be deeply missed. Family and friends may visit at Griffith Funeral Chapel, 520 Chester Pike, Norwood on Friday March 11th, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturday March 12th, 2022 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM. Directly following will be his funeral mass at 10:00 AM at Saint Joseph’s Church in Collingdale. Int. Holy Cross Cemetery.
