I was shocked when I heard the news. She was my gym teacher while I was at Lakeview in the '70's. She inspired me to be the best athlete I could be. She taught us to play fair & enjoy being active. She was truly had a passion for education and helping her students grow. My deepest sympathy and prayers to her family on your loss.

I remember Mrs. Malmsjo fondly as my gym teacher during my elementary days at Lakeview School. Especially remember playing "hide the keys" when stuck in our classrooms during bad weather. Thought it was neat we shared the same first name! My sympathy to her extended family.

It was my privilege to work with Joanne at Lakeview Elementary and then sing with her in the Ridley Community Chorus. I will miss seeing Joanne while out and about. She seemed to pop up everywhere. My sympathies to your family for your great loss.

Joanne was my gym teacher at Tome Street, my basketball coach at Ridley South, a colleague, and my golf buddy. She touched many people's heart in her lifetime and she will be deeply missed. My sympathies and thoughts to her family at this time. I feel fortunate I knew her.

I met Joanne as a kindergarten student at Tome St. school in 1962 and then had the privilege of working with her at Lakeview School when I returned there as the school nurse in 1987. I can still hear her voice calling me: "Nursey, Nursey." We shared wonderful memories and I enjoyed running in to her after her retirement. My deepest condolences to her extended family. She was a survivor despite medical issues. I know she will be pitching softball and rolling a bowling ball in the hereafter.
