I was looking for Jack online and was saddened to hear of his passing. Jack was a very dear friend to my father Paul Rieser. Jack was a kind man with a quick smile and a warm heart. I think Jack and Paul are making heaven a happier, more aesthetically appealing place to be!

Jack was one of my favorite instructors at The Art Institute of Philadelphia. Jack taught me back in the early days of the school when it was at 9th and Sansom. A talented man with a larger-than-life presence, he was always available for direction and advice. His bow-ties accented his always-present smile.

After I graduated, Jack talked me into teaching a design class at AIP. It was great to sit in the faculty lounge with him and listen to his stories about "the good old days" of Philadelphia's "commercial artists" when everything was done by hand.

I wear bow-ties, and every time I tie one, I think of Jack. Rest in peace, Jack.

So sorry to hear of Mr Duffys passing. He was always a part of our childhood as we spent in our Springfield neighborhood of very active kids. Mr Duffy was never quick to judge and always was there to lend a helping hand or kind word. The Duffy family will always remain in my heart as one that I am thankfull to have known became a better person because of them. MAy you rest in peace Mr Duffy, until we all meet again!

I'm So sorry to hear of Jack's passing. He was a very talented artist, great teacher, and friend to many. My parents spoke very fondly of Jack, as did my husband who was a student of his at AIP many years ago. May he now know the peace of heaven. Prayers for the entire Duffy family
