Kenneth D. Garton, 84, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2021. He was born in Philadelphia and graduated from Bartram High School, Class of 1954. Ken worked for Verizon for 47 years. He was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church for 37 years. He was an Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 512, Springfield, PA for over 40 years. A 32nd degree Mason, he was a member of Richmond - Solomon’s Lodge #3. He also volunteered with the Appalachia Service Project to repair homes. He is survived by his wife Marion (Widman) Garton, children David Garton (Christi), Mark Garton (Christine), and Amy Bartholomew (Buck). He is survived by 5 grandchildren, Lydia Garton, Samuel and Maggie Garton, and Brian and David Bartholomew. He was predeceased by his sisters Barbara Reinert and Phyllis Mead. His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 25th at 11am at Covenant United Methodist Church 212 W. Springfield Rd., Springfield, PA 19064 . Friends and family are invited for visitation from 10-11am at Church. Interment will be private. All guests are required to wear masks. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to Covenant United Methodist Church or Boy Scout Troop 512, c/o Covenant United Methodist Church at the above mentioned address.
