Mark Maxon Obituary

Mark Anthony Maxon

May 26, 1960 –

October 18, 2023

Mark Anthony Maxon is a larger-than-life legend, husband, father, grandfather, friend, mentor, leader, and patriot. Born in Van Nuys, California, to Helen Hopkins and Kenneth Maxon, Mark was raised, in part, by his Aunt Patti, Uncle Gates, and cousins. Forever a boy of the water and sand, he grew up along the California and Oregon coasts.

Mark moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where he reunited at Sugarhouse Park with his soulmate, Tresha Lee. The meet-cute could not be more fitting as Mark rode in on his motorcycle and spotted Tresha in her bikini on an uncharacteristically warm Sunday, February 23, 1986. Mark and Tresha wed at First Baptist Church on February 18, 1989. God had answered his childhood prayer. Unquestionably, among all his achievements, he was most proud of marrying the love of his life and forming his family.

Always dapper, Mark met the world with a beautiful smile, a steady handshake, and a captivating character. Among his many achievements, Mark served as a sales, business, and life consultant for Fortune 500 & 50 companies, an author, an American talk radio host, a fitness enthusiast, a man of magnetism, a great humorist, a passionate political commentator, as well as a devout believer in Jesus Christ and all of God's creations.

Apropos for a lifelong fish (and Miami Dolphins fan), Mark transitioned from this journey while doing something he enjoyed most– swimming among the waters of his beloved Laguna beaches. Mark's legacy lives on through his wife, Tresha Lee; daughter, Destiny (William Wallingford); his three sons, Beau, Skyler, and Spencer; granddaughters Weslyn, Ivy, and the awaited arrival of his fourth granddaughter; extended family; friends; as well as all of those he impacted. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, Aunt Patti, and granddaughter, Winston. As a lifeforce of unwavering faith, Mark would say, "No goodbyes," instead, "I'll be seeing you... be blessed."

A Celebration of Life will be on Wednesday, November 1 from 6-8 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East. Guests are encouraged to use parking and entrance located on the north side of the building. A remembrance service will be on November 2 at 2:00 PM where friends are invited to pay their respects to Mark prior to his cremation, also at Starks Funeral Parlor. Mark exuded color and light. I was fortunate to have worked with Mark for a short time at First Med.

Mark was a man with a commanding presence.
Confident yet not arrogant.
Swagger and moxie ? Check !

During my association with Mark I quickly learned he was a phenomenal speaker and coach that had a God given gift that few have.
He had the ability to captivate your mind , with soul that touched your heart as well.

The training and coaching I received from Mark has given me the ability to further my career in sales and improve my quality of life.
His Lifeworks seminar helped me navigate some of the most difficult times in my life.

I look back with fond memories filled with his voice and mannerisms. The man was simply the real deal.
I consider myself blessed to have known him.

I'm sure that when God decided to call Mark home , he had to make sure things in heaven were in order prior to doing so, as surely upon his arrival Mark would have requested a meeting to run through one of his
" discoveries " to see how things up there could be improved !

Rest in peace my friend. You´ve earned it ...

Your friend ,
Barry

May your memories give you peace and comfort of your loved one. Words fall short of expressing my sorrow for the loss of your loved one. May GOD be with you all during this difficult time. 1 Thessalonians 4:14 For if we have faith that Jesus died and rose again, so too God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in death through Jesus.

I was blessed to be invited to call you first friend and then 'family'. You encouraged me, and everyone around you, to be the best version of themselves by word and example. I intend to hoard my memories of you like a dragon hoards her gold. The echoes of those memories will always bring a smile to my face and a song to my heart. I will cherish the blessing that you were. Our Creator's love will guide us through the darkness and back into the light. I'll be seeing you.

I've known mark since 1998. I worked with him directly and indirectly in Real Estate, I.C. Solutions and First Med compliance systems.
He was a great leader and friend. We also enjoyed some choice days on the ski slopes as well.
I'm so sad for his family.
He will be missed ....
