Philip W. Gallagher, 74 Of Cecilton, MD Philip W. Gallagher, 74 of Cecilton, MD, formerly of Darby, PA, died January 11, 2011 in Christiana Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Gallagher was born on March 18, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late James L. and Agnes Kennedy Gallagher. Mr. Gallagher had worked for the Borough of Darby, PA for 18 years, retiring in 1998 as Borough Manager. He was a member of St. Dennis Roman Catholic church and the Fr. George Villiger Council Knights of Columbus, the Darby and Colwyn Fire Companies, Lower Cecil County Senior Citizens, and the Cecilton Lions Club. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by 2 brothers Paul and Thomas Gallagher. Survivors: Wife of 52 years Alice R. Gallagher; Daughter Donna Marie Shea (James) of Longmeadoe, MA; 4 sons: Richard Gallagher (Theresa) of West Chester, PA, Robert Gallagher (Terry) of Romansville, PA, Philip Gallagher, Jr. (Maria) of West Chester, PA, and John Gallagher (Kerry) of Holland, PA; 3 brothers: John Gallagher of Baltimore, MD, David Gallagher of Haddonfield, NJ and James Gallagher of Egg Harbor, NJ, and 8 grandchildren: Kailey, Aiden, Aryn, Philip, Kelsey, Cole, Mikaila and Kylie. Service: Friends may call on Saturday, January 15 from 9:00 to 10:30 am in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11am in St. Dennis R.C. Church, 153 N. Main St., Galena, MD.
