Robert Peter DiFabio

Robert Peter DiFabio, age 79, Robert Peter DiFabio, Bob, passed away in his home with his family in Havertown PA, on Saturday, January 19, 2013. Bob was born in Upper Darby PA on October 15, 1933 to his Mother Cecelia Filippone and his Father Peter, the youngest sibling of Marie DelVacchio, Dorothy Romano and Lorraine Elskamp. He spent a happy childhood in Upper Darby alternated with wonderful summer memories on the family farm in Dumbarton NJ. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and afterwards met his loving wife of an astounding 55 years Sandra Forlano DiFabio. They spent most all of their marriage in the same house on Rockwood Drive in Havertown with their 5 daughters Lisa Johnsen, Ellen DiFabio, Janet DiFabio Good, Deana Hinkle (Dad's favorite), and Bobbie Mummert. Bob spent most of his life aptly supporting his family's well -being financially and lovingly. Happiest early memories are summer weekends at the house pool where relatives and friends were in abundance and children rode on Bob's back as he swam and played volleyball. Music, Flyers Hockey and Eagles Football were his favorite passive pastimes. After his retirement 17 years ago from a successful career in the automobile business, Bob spent most of his time enjoying the many family gatherings at their house. Same as in his career, Bob was a driven and tenacious fighter till the end. We are proud of you Dad and we lift you up to the peace and understanding of Heaven and a new life with God and loved ones. Survivors: In addition to his wife and children he and Sandra were also blessed with 10 grandchildren Lauren Rogers, Ian Johnsen, Kira, Vincent and Adrianna Iacobone, Amber & Isabella Mummert, April and Steven Hinkle, and Eleanor Good. Visitation: 9:30AM followed by a Catholic Mass at 10AM, Friday January 25, Sacred Heart Church in Havertown PA. Interment: Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery immediately follows.
