Thomas R. Marsh

Rev. Thomas R. Marsh Rev. Thomas R. Marsh, 89 of Philadelphia, PA died on January 4, 2013 at the Simpson House. Born to the late James A. and Margaretta Birchall Marsh in Philadelphia, he resided at the Simpson House since 2007, previously residing in Newtown Square, Saylorsburg, Linwood, and Horsham, PA. He served in the Army during WWII European Theater from 1944 to 1946 and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. A graduate of Benjamin Franklin H.S., Rev. Marsh also graduated from Temple University (on GI Bill) and from the Reformed Episcopal Theological Seminary. He served his career as a Pastor beginning at the Prospectville United Methodist Church, Linwood Heights U.M. Church, St. Peter's U.M. Church in Saylorsburg, PA until the age of 80; afterwards as part-time Pastor at the Hamorton Chapel. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Susannah Milligan Marsh who died in 2008, siblings, John, Robert and Edward Marsh, Dorothy Hoffman and Peggy Maienshein. Survivors: Brother, James Marsh, many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephew and great grand nieces and nephews, extended family, The Garretts, Daly's and Pollock's. Graveside Services: Wednesday, 11:00AM at Sunset Memorial Park, Huntington Valley, PA.
