William J. Harper

William J. “Jack” Harper, Jr., of Brookhaven, PA, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. Jack was the eldest child of the late William J. Harper, Sr. and Emma Widdoes Harper and was predeceased by his brothers David “Cookie” Harper, George “Nip” Harper and his sister, Carolyn H. Burnett. He leaves on earth a loving and admiring family: his wife of 64 years, Judy, his sons, Kenneth J. and W. Scott Harper, his sisters, Nancy H. Raynor and Bonnie S. Harper, 6 grandchildren, Anthony (Jamelee), Jesse, John, Madilyn, Julia and Joey, a great grandson, Anthony, Jr., 3 nephews, a niece, and his cat Bentley. Jack grew up in Lima and was a proud alumnus of Williamson College of the Trades. He retired as owner of Jack Harper Machine Work and Welding, LLC., and was a member of Proclamation Presbyterian Church in Bryn Mawr, a lifetime member of Rough & Tumble Engineers, and the Train Collectors Association. For decades, Jack was a champion driver and builder of Micro Sprint race cars. Visitation: Saturday, April 30th from 10:00-10:45AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Ltd., Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.
