Albert "Sonny" George Jr., 81, passed away on July 18 at Ohio Living Sarah Moore Nursing Home. Albert was born in Delaware, Ohio on August 13, 1940, to the late Albert George and Virginia L. (Schlabach) George.
He was a graduate of Willis High School and attended Miami University and the Ohio State University and was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. Albert was Plant Manager of Hagglunds Dennison, worked for Worldwide Games and PPG Industries as a Production Supervisor.
Albert adored his dogs Toby and Lacy and spent as much time as he could playing with them. He was a loyal fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, a football season ticket holder and loved attending games. He also had a passion for golf and played regularly prior to his illness. Albert enjoyed fishing with his friends in Michigan, reading The Gazette and Dispatch regularly and maintaining a beautiful yard and garden. In his retirement, Albert, his wife Letha and their dogs spent their winters in Sebring, Florida where he also enjoyed playing golf with his buddies. He and Letha traveled to Hawaii often and those vacations were a highlight in his life.
Albert was happiest when spending time with his family. He was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren and delighted in their experiences which he could share through pictures they sent to him on his digital frame.
Albert is survived by his wife, Letha C. (Sherman) George and three children; Beth (Mick) Amato, Bob (Barb) George and Mari (Brian) Thomas and grandchildren; Hollie (Patrick) Welch, Chelsea Amato, Lindsay and Tyler George, Brett, Drew and Connor (Katie) Jack and Emma, Owen and Aidan Thomas along with stepchildren, grandchildren and great grandchildren; Bethany Palmer, Jamie (Don) Wallace, Russell (Leslie Wasman) Palmer; Dustin, Brandon and Hunter Redd; Robin, Charlotte, Declan, Dominic, Jamison and Emma.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Paul L. "Butch" George and is survived by a brother Ronald (Carolyn) George of Vernon, Texas.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, July 22, 2022, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Robinson's Funeral Home in Delaware, Ohio. In addition, a funeral service will be held Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 10 a.m. also at Robinson's. Following the funeral, the burial will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Chesterville, Ohio.

So sorry about Sonny. I am one of the Michigan fishing buddies. Many years we enjoyed our time together. Fishing was the main reason, but the time together was the most important. I will miss him.
