DELAWARE — Carol Ann (Myer) Cooper, 82, of Delaware, Ohio, formerly of Elyria, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home in the presence of her loving daughters on Sunday, May 28, 2017.
Carol was born in Toledo, Ohio, on Oct. 12, 1934 to Charles and Hazel Myer. She graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work followed by a Master's degree from The Case Western Reserve University.
Carol married Richard Cooper on July 2, 1960. The couple resided and raised their family in Elyria, Ohio, where Carol worked as a case worker for Lorain County Children's Services where she shared her passion for family and child welfare.
She, among many things, enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening, and flower arranging. She was a very faithful member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church of Delaware, Ohio, where she served on the Vestry and Alter Guild. Her daughters will remember her always as kind, compassionate, the calm in the storm, and the most beautiful woman in the world.
Carol is preceded in death by her husband Richard Cooper of 53 years.
She is survived by daughters, Alison (Naulac) Jean-Louis, Christine (Pat) Hill, Sheila Cooper, and Andrea (Greg) Coron; grandchildren, Ethan and Genna Jean-Louis, and Riley and Julia Coron.
Additionally, she is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Hazel Myer; brothers, Donal Myer, Robert Myer; and sister, June Myer.
The family would like to thank Columbus Oncology and Hematology Associates, Brightstar Care and Ohiohealth Hospice for their expert and compassionate care Carol and her family received for the duration of her illness.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to People in Need, 138 Johnson Drive, Delaware, OH 43015 or St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 45 W. Winter St., Delaware, OH 43015.
Robinson Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
A memorial service will be celebrated on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 45 W. Winter St., Delaware, OH 43015 with the Rev. Terry Highland and Rev. Charles Wilson officiating. Family will receive visitors beginning at 10 a.m. at the church. The service will be followed by interment of her ashes in the St. Peter's Memorial Garden and a reception afterwards. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Carol's life.
