DELAWARE — George Richard Doland 94, a life-long resident of Delaware, died Friday, April 8, 2022, at his home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Irene, also of Delaware, and his daughter Teresa, and sister Sarah Newell.
He is survived by his daughter Candace, son-in law Steve, and granddaughters Darcy, all of Arizona, grandsons Tyler Elmendorf of New York, and Andrew Elmendorf of South Carolina, niece Cheryl Ross of Columbus, Carla Ross of California, Danielle Burroughs, Barbara Fathbruckner, Bev Gould, Brenda Jenkins, and Bobbi Carter, all of Delaware, and Jennifer Fathbruckner of Ashley, Nephew Donald Burroughs of Delaware.
Mr. Doland was a member of AMVETS, and served in Okinawa after WWII. In addition, he was a member of the Hamburger Inn Coffee Club, and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Delaware. A motorcycle enthusiast, he traveled to Sturgis and Florida as well as Route 66.
He was a machinist and foreman at Delo Screw Products for 40 years.
Memorial services, celebrating George's Life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in George's name may be directed towards the First Presbyterian Church, 73 West Winter Street, Delaware, Ohio 43015.
