Robert Eugene Reischman, 85 of Delaware, Ohio passed peacefully late Friday, January 31, 2025, at his residence. Born March 11, 1939, in Ashland, Ohio, the only son to the late Charles and Mary Opal (McLane) Reischman.
Robert attended and later graduated from Woodsfield High School and attended Ohio University as well. Robert was a computer programmer and worked for such places as BorgWarner, Kenyon College and Bordens. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Delaware and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his children Robert E. (Anita) Reischman II, Brian Reischman, Tina Smith and Mary Helen James; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years who he married in 1959, Loretta Reischman, whom he had met on a blind date, and daughter Vonda Speckman.
Robert enjoyed being outdoors. He loved golfing and would go regularly during the summer. He was an avid Ohio State fan, along with the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Guardians. Having five kids under the age of 30, vacations weren't extravagant but meant the most to the family. They remember traveling to Colorado, Niagara Falls and most importantly Tennessee. He also enjoyed completing puzzles and square dancing with Loretta. He will be remembered as the loving, caring and sometimes stubborn husband, father, and grandfather that he was.
