Ruth J. Partin-Gillfillan, age 82 of LaFollette, Tennessee formerly of Ashley passed away Thursday, June 3, 2021.
She was born on October 3, 1938, in St. Albans, West Virginia to the late Stephen and Eva (Brown) Rayburn. She was a hard worker and was especially proud of her home health care work and taking care of others.
She would meet Jim Partin while he was serving in the US Army, they were married and shared 30 wonderful years before his sad passing in 1985.
Ruth loved sitting out on her front porch visiting with family and friends watching the birds and chatting. There was always a jigsaw puzzle on the table for all to enjoy. She enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitch, working jigsaw puzzles, and bird watching. She loved her collection of Precious Moments figurines. She was firm in her Baptist faith and had been a member of several churches over the years. She took great pride in her independence. She was always straight to the point and had a great love of family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son Sam (Kathleen) Partin of Oxford, MS; grandchildren: Shon (Alisha) Partin, Sam (Brittany) Partin, Shelaine (Chris) Rogerson, Jessica (John) Bell; 4 great-grandchildren: Gage, Jada, Sam, Tyler; siblings: Frank Rayburn of Westfield, OH, Ronald (Francis) Rayburn of LaRue, OH, Betty (Bob) Feucht of Marysville, OH, Rosalee (Jim) Sharp of Marysville, OH, and Patty (Don) Madison of Mt. Even though Ruth became my grandmother long ago when Pansy married my father and I haven seen her in years, she will always be remembered and have a place in my heart. I can remember that she made the best candies at Christmas and she was as sweet as they were❤
