Betty Groton Obituary
Laurel - Betty C. Groton, age 80, of Laurel, Delaware passed away on November 5, 2018 at her home with her family.
Betty was born in Accomac, VA a daughter of the late, Floyd and Ethel Custis.
Betty was the owner of Bobs Speed Shop in Laurel, She had attended Christ the Cornerstone Church in Laurel. She was an avid Washington Redskins and Baltimore Orioles Fan. Family was first and foremost to her.
She is survived by her son, Glenn Groton (Debbie) of Laurel, a daughter Sharon Lowe (Mike) of Laurel. Her Siblings, Linwood "Tommy" Custis of Smyrna, Cecil "Scotty" Custis of New Castle, Caroline "Connie" Trader of Onancock, Annie Johnston of Accomac, and Linda Bullis of Delmar. Grandchildren, Robert "Robbie" Groton, Ryan Groton, Autumn Ralph (Brennen), Justin Groton, Christopher Lowe (Jessica). Great grandchildren, Trevor Groton, Brinlee Ralph, Brayden Lowe and Ava Lowe.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her siblings, Roland Custis, Floyd "Junior" Custis, Donald Custis, George "Coby" Custis, Margert "Sis" Campbell, and Norma "Tea" Justice.
A funeral service will be held at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home Laurel, DE on Sunday November 11, 2018 at 2:00 pm, a viewing will also be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The Pastor Beth Elzey will officiate. Interment will be held on Monday November 12, 2018 in Fairview Lawn Cemetery in Onancock, VA.
