Edwin Showell Obituary
Fruitland-Edwin Leanel Showell, 40, of here, departed this life on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Wilmington, DE, he was the son of Martha Morris of Parsonsburg, Edward Henry, Jr. of Berlin and George Payton of Mappsville, VA.
He was employed by the State Highway Administration in Princess Anne as a Facilities Maintenance Tech II.
In addition to his parents and stepfather, loving memories will remain with: his wife, Tonekia Showell of Fruitland; four sons, Ramel Showell of Berlin, Keyshon Showell of Princess Anne, Keshawn Marshall, and Akeem McBride, both of Salisbury; two daughters, Tamara Showell of Washington, D.C. and Dasiah Molock of Cambridge; three brothers, Edward Henry III of Cherokee, AL, Troy Henry of Ocean City and Nathan Woods of New York; two sisters, Shelly M. Strand (William) of Salisbury and Vanessa Henry of Berlin; his maternal grandmother, Madeline Showell of Dagsboro, DE; his paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Henry of Berlin; his mother-in-law, Deborah Townsend of Fruitland; his father-in-law, Tony Townsend of Bishopville; one special nephew, Valdase Morris of Baltimore; two special nieces, Valnisha Morris of Salisbury and Da'Airah Foreman of Berlin; several other nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, in-laws, and friends.
Mr. Showell will lie in repose on Saturday, July 18, 2015, from 11 AM to 12 PM at Calvary Pentecostal Church, 13325 Worcester Highway, Bishopville. The funeral service will begin at 12 PM. Interment will follow the service. A ministry of comfort and dignity is being provided by Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home, P.A. in Salisbury. I want to send my condolences to the Showell family. So deeply sorry for your loss. Edwin was one of a kind! One of our classmates brought back to my memory how he used to lift up his eyelids...that brought back so many laughs. I would see Edwin from time to time in Tastee Freez and heard shortly after that he was sick, which i would check on him thru fb to see how he was doing. But when this cancer thing took a turn for the worse I hadnt seen much of him. I pray for your comfort, peace and most importantly your strength. Just know he truly is in a better place...no more suffering and no more pain!! And keep smiling knowing that you will see him again and when you do he will be as healthy as ever!! Keeping you guys in prayer!
